P-Funk North is a Reggae/Rock cocktail touching on Ska, Punk, Hip Hop and everything in between. Born in the suburbs of central Jersey, P-Funk North is comprised of four North Plainfield natives paying homage to their hometown and refers to being George Clinton’s neighbor to the north. Readjunk.com described P-Funk North as a mix of “reggae fusion with ska, punk and rock,” with a “unique sound” that refreshes, yet revisits familiar sounds layered in 90’s nostalgia and third wave ska. These reggae rockers have toured to Florida and Chicago and have shared the stage with Rebelution, Stephen Marley, King Yellowman, Ballyhoo! and Badfish, as well as Eve6, Obie Trice and Aaron Carter. Having shared the stage with successful artists such as Datsik, Icona Pop, and Waka Flocka Flame, K-LO (Kyle Shortman) is no stranger to the energy of live music. Pulling from different styles like Trap, Future Bass, and Tropical House to form his signature sound, his previous original productions and remixes as part of Producer/DJ duo "Out Of State" have garnered hundreds of thousands of plays and been picked up by media outlets like Middle Tennessee Music, RageJunkie, EDMPost, Danceandrave, and Paradoxium. A New Jersey native and current student at Middle Tennessee State University's audio production program, he has a wide variety of experience, having played nightclubs, private events, and festivals.
